Globaltech, Inc. was the prime design-build contractor for the South Martin Regional Utility (SMRU) Wastewater Equalization Tank and Pump Station Project in Hobe Sound, Florida.
The project was executed in three phases. In Phase 1, Globaltech installed a 340 feet of 10′ HDPE forcemain via directional drilling and conducted earthwork to stabilze the side of a hillside at SMRU water plant site so that a glass fused steel tank and pump station could be constructed. Geotechnical design was prepared with assistance from Dunkelberger Engineering & Testing, Inc.. The hillside was stabilzed using sheet piles and the area for the tank was excavated and compacted.
In Phase 2, Florida Aquastore constructed the glass fused steel tank on the site in a separate contract with SMRU.
In Phase 3, Globaltech installed the wastewater pump station and made final connections to the tank and the 8” forcemain.
Globaltech was responsible for design development, permitting, and construction services. Holtz Consulting Engineers, Inc was the design-build criteria consultant for the overall project.
